Well, I started writing this post the night of my appointment (which was Wednesday) but I fell asleep with my hands on the keyboard. Must have been from that 3.43 mile run I did earlier in the day…yep, you read correctly. I can run again!
Things have been crazy since that day. I keep trying to write but then something comes up. I would have finished it Thursday, but I was beat after work. And Friday, Fall for Greenville started, so obviously I went to that as soon as work was over. Last night, I was set on finishing this post, but then our house was vandalized (super long story). So I told myself "no excuses today," and now I'm going to finish this.
My cardiologist has given me the okay to resume running, and I am pumped!
As I predicted, my echo came back normal, and so did my two week halter monitor test. Just to make sure, they threw me on a treadmill for a stress test. I supposedly passed that with flying colors. Apparently everyone in the office had some kind of bet or were curious as to how long I would last on the treadmill. He has requested that I don't work out for more than 50 minutes at a time, with the exception of the occasional half marathon here and there.
Before Wednesday, I had gone a solid month without running a mile, and now I have less than 13 days to get in shape for the Spinx Half Marathon. I don't care if I have to crawl across the finish line, I'm doing it!
Until next time!
Music I'm currently listening to: Sir Sly's "You Haunt Me" album. It's pretty amazing
Days until Spinx Half: less than 13
