Awkward-Awesome Humpday

The Perks and Pains of Wednesday

The Awkward: Spending at least 2 hours detailing your car (that desperately needs some TLC in the cleaning department) only to have it rain within an hour of finishing. I'm not kidding. As soon as
I closed my door when I finished, it began to drizzle. My luck.

The Awesome: Spending some quality time with Evie training for our race on Saturday. The morning started with a visit to the vet because of a cut she got on her ear from the dog park. Despite having some of the worst vet-anxiety, she did amazing! Afterwards, we took a nice 2 mile run at the park. After the first leg of the run, Evie tried swimming for the first time, and I think it's safe to say she loved it. After catching a huge second wind, we sprinted back and she took some time to cool down at the dog park.

(Favorite sleeping spot. And yes, I was parked, legally.)

We can't wait for Saturday. Normally my family (with exception of my dad attending the big ones) don't attend my races, which is fine because they're super early….on Saturdays. Evie is drawing in all members of my family this weekend, including my older brother and my 6-year old niece. My niece told me we better win for her….no pressure, right?

Speaking of race, the race we are doing is called the Mutt Strut. 100% of the proceeds go to the Greenville Humane Society, which is exactly where Evie and my two cats came from (Gilli is a Spartanburg girl.) Evie and I are raising money to help GHS continue the amazing work they do for these animals. If you feel led to donate, you can click the link below.
